Four years ago, Republican Susan Pamerleau won election as the first female sheriff in Bexar County. She had no opponent in the Republican primary. Now two Democrats are in a runoff to challenge Pamerleau in November. Early voting begins Monday and election day is a week from Tuesday. Both Democrats are veteran law enforcement officers and they are here this week to talk about the race.
