Blindsided by school closure, families hope for reprieve

Students from University Heights Charter School are hoping the state Department of Education doesn’t shut down their school. The DOE sent a letter on June 1 confirming it would be closing UHCS for failure to provide high-quality education, leaving parents scrambling to figure out where to place their kids next year. Head of schools Dr. Christy Oliver says she disagrees with DOE’s reasoning.
