It is not well known, but Muslims also embrace many religious figures familiar to Christians and Jews. Adam and Eve, Noah and Abraham, Solomon, Moses and Jesus are all in the Quran. Sometimes the stories are different and there are theological differences, but in the case of the Virgin Mary, Muslims and Christians agree on most points.
