In Newark, a different approach to combating learning loss

Friday marks the end of the first Summer Learning Week in New Jersey, dedicated to making up for academic and summer learning loss, all of which were made worse by the pandemic, and for a lot of students nearly an entire year of remote instruction. The United Way of Greater Newark, which has partnered with Newark Public Schools, is giving grants to several programs.
