Historic school desegregation decision honored at Capitol

On Thursday, lawmakers and educators rallied at the Colorado State Capitol to unveil "Cruzando Los Traques (Crossing the Tracks)" a statue supporting awareness of the historic Maestas vs. Shone court decision. The event honored one of the nation’s first school desegregation cases, decided in Alamosa in spring of 1914.
