Frank Mechau was one of Colorado’s finest artists. His style reflected his education and training, his regional passions, and modernist sophistication. Even though he died suddenly from a heart attack at the age of 43, he was able to leave an indelible mark in the art world and the State of Colorado, including being commissioned to paint no less than 11 murals.
