Ida victims face homelessness as towns run out of funding

FEMA announced Friday the deadline to apply for relief related to Tropical Storm Ida damage has been extended to Jan. 5. But for hundreds of renters displaced by the storm, federal help only goes so far. Families from West Orange to Passaic have relied on local officials to pay for hotel rooms as they try to piece their lives back together. As the holidays near, that help appears likely to end.
