Chicago Housing Authority Promised Housing, Delivered Soccer

Earlier this year, city officials announced big plans for a vacant site on the near west side. The Chicago Fire football club wants to build a multi-million dollar practice and training facility near Roosevelt and Ashland. But the proposal to sign a long-term lease for the empty land has sparked backlash since it’s the former site of Chicago Housing Authority homes that the agency tore down.
